The incubation period for a disease is the time between the moment when the virus is contracted and the onset of symptoms.

Currently it is estimated that the incubation period for SARS-Cov-2 is approximately 5-6 days within a range of 14 days .

50% of the population began symptoms within 5 days of transmission.

97.5% of the patients already had symptoms 11.5 days after transmission

A small percentage of the population may take longer to present symptoms, so it is important to extend the isolation beyond 14 days in certain cases.
