WHICH ARE OUR BASES?
JEAN WATSON'S THEORY
Margaret Jean Harman (June, 1940). She studied nursing and a master's degree in Educational and Care Psychology. She worked at the School of Nursing and at the Denver University of Health Sciences, where along with some colleagues she founded the Center for Human Care. In 2008 he founded the Watson Institute of Care Sciences, with the aim of making his theory known throughout the world.
Transpersonal care was the result of realizing, from his perspective, that nursing was
leaving aside the human aspect that should characterize it. J. Watson is Doctor Honoris
Causa from the Rovira i Virgili University.
PATIENT CENTERED CARE
Patient Centered Care (PCC) is the concept that encompasses the set of actions that responds to the preferences, needs and values of patients in an individualized way, ensuring that the patient's decisions are the priority. It is considered as the nucleus of nursing, managing to see the person-patient as a multidimensional being.
