INCIDENCE

  • Currently, Spain exceeds 50 cases of COVID-19 per 100,000 inhabitants , making it the second country in Europe with the highest incidence, only behind Romania.

 

  • The cumulative incidence (number of cases diagnosed in the last 14 days) of COVID-19 cases shows an increasing trend since the first week of July.

 

  • A few months ago the main source of contagion was health centers, at the moment, the most prevalent area of ​​exposure is home contact.

  • The age group most affected by COVID-19 currently corresponds to 15 to 29 years old .

 

  • The mean age where there is a higher incidence is 42 years old (27 - 59), observing, unlike a few months ago, a greater affectation in the female sex.

 

  • The oldest sector of the population is one of the most vulnerable , and despite the decline in cases currently observed in this group, the percentage of hospitalizations and deaths increases with age.
